Identifying Your QMS Processes: A 30,000 Foot View
How do you identify the processes that need to be measured to ensure your Quality Management System (QMS) is performing at its best? This is a critical question for any organization that wants to achieve compliance with AS9100 and ensure their QMS is effective. Often, we get caught up in the day-to-day details of our work and lose sight of the bigger picture. But to truly understand our QMS processes, we need to take a step back and look at them from a “30,000-foot view.” What does this mean? It means looking at your QMS as a system of interrelated processes, rather than a collection of individual tasks. For example, instead of seeing CNC turning, CNC milling, and deburring as separate processes, you might view them as a single “Production” process. Why is this important?
